Born in 1996, Shadow is a larger, beefy gelding for sale by one of our customers. He is pretty, bay,
14.3 hands, but looks larger with his broad chest and about 1,100 pounds. Except for being well fed and needing
a bit of a diet this one is a nice boy. UPDATE 6/19/08: After going on a diet and being lunged several times
a day Shadow is losing weight nicely and looking nice compared to the photos below. But stay tuned for nice current
photos as we get them to post here.
He is a little rusty being ridden so he is here for some tune up training until he finds his new home. Shadow
is not a rodeo and so far so good on his personality and touching anywhere, loading and hauling, stands for feet trims, etc.
Just a nice, steady boy and we are finding no holes in his personality.
The owner is selling as the owner has three horses and only time to ride one of them so Beauty and her
brother Shadow need a new home. Neither of these horses are mental or have any conformational problems. He is
healthy and happy too.
My family bred his sire and we owned the grandparents, Beckridge Ulendon and Caridel Chime Bell since they were
youngsters so I remember these horses very well. At that time we were breeding working ranch horses with great brains
and bone and this gelding takes after his sire and his lines a lot.
6/19/08 update: I rode Shadow yesterday and we took some photos. These photos are too dark so we will
be taking some more soon. But Shadow was a lot of fun and yes he is rusty in the riding department as his job lately
has been chewing and being a pasture ornament.
Shadow will do well with an intermediate rider right away or if you are a beginner then he would need at least 30
days professional tune up and then be safe for beginners later on with some time in the saddle again. But I enjoyed
taking him around yesterday and he is a very willing guy. Just a nice horse.
Shadow did well riding alone, but I was told he liked going out with his sister on trail rides which we have her
