Dragoon All Hands on Deck
AKA Decker
(Sumrsnow Majestic by Westridge
Ashley Moro X Dehla's Dawn by Rhed's Hot Shot by Waseeka's Hot Shot)
Here is our first 2008 foal
below we have named Decker. He is a very sweet colt and a dark seal brown once his foal coat sheds out.
Some
of the photos below or on his other page if you click the link below. I am using a flash if the shadows were too
harsh so Decker looks lighter then he actually is in person. He is shedding out from his foal coat to be very dark
seal brown like his dam as you can see some from more of his recent photos.
Decker may be gaited like his mom.
We have seen him gait as well as trot so time will tell which he is down the road. He is still deciding if he is gaited
or not. UPDATE 2009: Decker is trotting now more then gaiting but he does gait now and then.
He was born
on June 12 at 5:30 a.m. and has been a perfectly mellow baby since the day he was born and imprinted.
He is
already halter broke, stands quietly at hitching post, touch anywhere, loads and hauls, trims like a gentleman, pick up all
four feet, stands for fly spray and sacking out, wears a towel over his eyes and on his back, etc. This one loves people
and any attention. He enjoys learning new things so we are spending a lot of time as we do with our foals to give him
a great foundation to be a future show and breeding horse with impeccable ground manners.
Decker will mature
15 or 15.1 and around 1100 or more pounds. This will be a beefy boy when he is done growing at age four to seven.
Morgans are late bloomers, but they also live many years too.
He went to his first horse show at three months
old in September 2008 at our fair and he won first in Morgan Weanling Colts and Grand Champion Morgan Stallion. That
was his first trailer ride and second trailer ride home, first stalled off the farm for three days, first time being mauled
by everyone he did not know and first class. Decker was a perfect gentleman and represented the breed well with his
manners and extremely sweet personality.
Decker went on to go to two shows and did very well at both and we mean
more then the ribbons. We mean he handled the adoring crowds mauling him and the trailer ride as well as being fussed
over. Nothing fazes this colt. We also find him amazingly easy to train too and hope he stays that way as he ages.
Decker got
his name because within the first hour of his birth Dehla was swishing away flies and hit him in the head with her tail.
He went flying and fell over on his newborn legs after she decked him. We like our barn names to reflect personalities
here so Decker he became and his fancy registered name came later. We think it fits him well.
Do come
meet this cutie in person. Decker will not disappoint anyone with his halter confromation and puppy dog sweet personality.
