Why this event was started... It is is always hard to get folks to come to the stable to see our stallions at stud
and horses for sale and I figured other barns were probably in the same boat. So I thought, "Why not get the horses
to the people instead of making the folks go to the horses? And horse shows are too intimidating for most newbies so
what to plan to get people to come out?" The Annual Morgan Horse Open House was then born.
I have managed many events over the years including horse shows so I knew I could get this new event
off the ground if I called a few horsey buds and asked them to bring their horses. They did and then helped me get others
on board too.
I then asked a good friend to help me manage this event too. Kathy took pity on me and we make a great team
on this event each year. Thanks for your help!
The event was a roaring success in 2005 with 400+ people and 12 Morgan barns attending. There were stud breedings
sold, a horse was sold at the event and it was like "old home day" visiting with area Morgan lovers.

In 2006 we had 350+ people attend, yet another mare sold at the event for $2,200, I sold some breedings to the boys and
vendors had fun. The exhibitors had a great time too and will all be back in 2007. We had 16 barns on board in
2006 so we are growing and want to invite you to come see your next horse to buy or hug a stallion looking for some mares
each year. Some of the horses were too furry including mine, but real horse people can always see around the Winter
furries. The horses do not need to be stalled over the Winter to attend this event each Spring. We always need
more ridable horses for sell and gorgeous stallions to be showcased.
This is an all breed event with an Appy and Friesian barns that were set to attend in 2006. One Friesian barn had
to pull out this year darn it. But we had 20 horses in the Liberty Class that ran for almost two hours as
it was a Jackpot class that paid $100 minimum and the audience had fun with that part of our event. And we had four
Morgan clubs on board from the region and other vendors too. I was shooting and another professional photographer
taking photos for the day too.
All-in-all it was a very fun day to be in the sunshine and seeing horses. Please consider joining us with your
stallions and/or horses for sale of all breeds in 2006. It is very reasonably priced at $35 per stall or less with enough
people to see your horses by getting them off the farm. We managed to be in a lot of media including local TV filming
before the event too each year so do you need any more exposure for your farm or your breed of horses? Did you have
350 people at your barn in 2005? Come join us for some fun.
