FOR SALE:
Dragoon Scottish Tartan
AKA Fergus
See Fergus' papers at the bottom of this page.
Fergus is a cutie and quite a charming boy. He is a favorite
of all our visitors here almost every weekend. He is led around by most everyone who visits with just a halter and a
leadrope. We are still waiting for "his terrible twos" but they have not arrived yet he is so steady and sweet.
This lovely bay colt has two hind white socks and some white up on his front feet
too front with a star was born on May 27, 2006. Our second foal of 2006 appeared at dinnertime instead of the usual
early morning hours. That was a surprise as Rap's foals always come early morning hours.
Check out the halter conformation on this colt. With his lovely bloodlines on both sides of his
papers, Fergus will make an exceptional breeding stallion we think. Fergus is royally bred with show horse bloodlines.
Here are some highlights; Sealect of Wind-crest, Pecos, Upwey Ben Don, Serendipity Aries B, Applevale Cadence, Elm Hill
Charter Oak, Applevale Replica, TVM Prince Steven, UVM Promise, Chantwood Charterson, Orcland Vigildon, Oldwick Crusader,
Sky Chief, Archie O, Tutor, Stanfield and more in his background.
Rapture AKA Arboria Rapture, his dam, is a Res. National champion Classic Pleasure Driving horse and has won many
halter classes in her career at class "A" shows. She is such a versatile mare that she was also shown Western
too and Saddle Seat to nice ribbons too. See a link to her page below with a lot of photos our our foundation broodmare.
Reed AKA Kerry Freedom, his sire, also has halter
good looks, but was mainly used as a breeding horse instead of being shown. His get are winning in show rings when they
are taken off the farm. See his link below for his photos.
Fergus' sire
is 14.3 and his dam is 15.1 so we expect Fergus to mature to around 15 according to measuring his cannon bone as a youngster.
This colt is smart and sweet plus he likes people. He is a very funny guy
who has been worked and imprinted since the day he hit the ground. Fergus loads and hauls, trims all four feet
with no protest, stands for anything like shots, ties to the hitching post with no problems, lets us touch him anywhere we
want, wears a towel on his head or anywhere with patience, etc. He is too young to ride yet, but we are already starting
to put a small saddle on him to get him ready for any future training.
Fergus and all our foals get a ton of groundwork so by the time you are ready to ride or train them they already
know how to be calm and quiet horses. This colt is handled daily by a horse trainer who works at home.
Fergus is from slow maturing bloodlines so will not finish his height or
weight until age five or beyond. So if folks can not see what he will be down the road then he will stay here until this
cutie is mature and greenbroke then will still be offered for sale down the road. What is one more stallion?
Hahahaha.
PRICE REDUCED for 2009: Fergus
is for sale at just $3,000 as we should downsize at some point. But a great home is the most important thing for us for all
our foals. But we feel he should be shown down the road and perhaps stay a stud he is that pretty. Fergus also
has a presence about him that everyone notices. And we have too many stallions so some have to find new lives. The
longer he stays the more we are thinking of keeping him he is that pretty and kind.
That is a very reasonable price for a future breeding stallion with the bloodlines for exceptional show quality
foals and a future show champion stallion in whatever division he is trained to be in down the road. We feel he would excell
in Western or halter on any level.
